Role Overview

The Substance Use Recovery Support Specialist plays a vital role in providing guidance and resources to individuals dealing with substance use challenges, demonstrating proficiency in personal recovery and effective coping strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Connecting individuals with essential benefits and community resources;
  • Motivating and mentoring individuals through personalized and group support sessions aimed at promoting health, preventing illness and substance use, managing addiction, and enhancing overall wellness.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required;
  • Personal experience with substance use disorders (SUD) and a minimum of three years of sustained sobriety and recovery are essential;
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and internet usage, along with experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) are highly preferred.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range for non-certified positions: $16,997 to $21,958
  • Annual salary range for certified positions: $18,514 to $23,924

Note: Salaries are based on an average of an 18-hour work week.
