Job Title: Intellectual Property Assistant

Vaco Boston has partnered with a reputable law firm to fill an Intellectual Property Assistant position. This role is responsible for managing patent and trademark docketing, as well as U.S. and foreign patent annuity processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage U.S. Patent and Trademark docketing process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of deadlines.
  • Process new U.S. and foreign applications into the docket management system, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Handle incoming mail, faxes, and courier packages, docketing necessary deadlines and ensuring prompt action.
  • Enter newly incoming filing information into the docket and maintain the docket database, guaranteeing accurate recording of critical docket dates.
  • Create docket reports for attorneys and staff as needed, providing valuable insights and support.
  • Review final deadlines and notify attorney/staff via email to obtain information for completing non-extendable actions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3+ years' experience in U.S. and foreign patent and trademark docketing.
