Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Financial Analyst to join our team at Smiths Detection Inc. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to our program managers, ensuring the accurate and timely management of program finances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide ongoing financial analysis and reporting to program managers, facilitating the preparation of financials and supporting detailed program reviews.
  • Program Financial Management: Ensure program financials are accurately accounted for, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Contract Management: Understand and apply contract terms and conditions, including direct and indirect rate application for various contract types.
  • Cost Control and Compliance: Review and analyze cost elements charged to assigned programs, ensuring reasonableness and accuracy, and proposing suggestions for recovery where applicable.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop and maintain accurate forecasts and budgets, comparing program actual costs to bid/budget costs and highlighting variances.
  • Invoice Preparation and Compliance: Prepare invoices in accordance with government contracts and FAR requirements, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Program Management Reviews: Present financial results in monthly program management reviews, highlighting key areas of risk and opportunity.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of finance or related corporate experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with program managers and other stakeholders.
