Role Overview

The Senior Auditor (Risk Management) will play a crucial role in the formulation and execution of audit strategies within the risk management sector. This position will involve conducting risk evaluations and assessing the effectiveness of controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory mandates. Key skills required include critical thinking, quick learning, effective communication, and familiarity with audit methodologies and risk management principles, including but not limited to Third Party Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, and Enterprise Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support the planning and execution of assigned audits.
  • Conduct interviews and reviews to identify risk areas and establish appropriate controls.
  • Design and implement audit procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Identify control deficiencies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Document audit findings clearly to support conclusions and recommendations.
  • Execute audit tasks in accordance with established auditing standards and internal guidelines.
  • Assist in the audit reporting process by drafting clear and concise reports.
  • Participate in Continuous Monitoring and special projects within the department.
  • Manage competing priorities effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Foster positive relationships with business partners to promote a cooperative risk culture.
  • Engage in continuous learning to enhance understanding of risk management practices and regulations.
  • Contribute to a purpose-driven culture by embodying CIBC values.
