We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Auditor to join our team at Sterling Freeman. As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for leading and conducting audits, reviews, and compilations for a variety of clients, including mid-sized private companies, investment entities, non-profits, and employee benefit plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct audits, reviews, and compilations for clients in multiple industries, including financial services, healthcare, and technology.
- Develop and implement audit plans, including risk assessments and internal control evaluations.
- Supervise and coach junior auditors and staff to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Prepare financial statements and reports, including audit reports and management letters.
- Identify and evaluate risks, including financial, operational, and compliance risks.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to address identified risks and control deficiencies.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and objectives, and provide recommendations to improve their financial reporting and internal controls.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on auditing and financial services.
- CPA certification or in-progress.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial analysis and modeling, including financial statement preparation and audit.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including GAAP and GAAS.
- Experience with audit software and technology, including data analytics and visualization tools.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and analyze complex financial and operational issues.
