Responsible for the ongoing development, maintenance, and implementation of the company's Enterprise Risk management framework for Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, and KRIs. Provides tactical leadership to coordinate and execute the process for the annual compilation and communication of risk appetite and associated KRIs with multiple areas within the organization, including Finance, Business Technology, Lines of Business, Legal, and Compliance as well as within Corporate Risk Management. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
Responsibilities
- Supports the DFS's Risk Appetite Program, inclusive of Risk Appetite Framework, Risk Appetite Statement and Metrics, Policy and Procedures, risk measurement approach (risk metrics and limit calibration), and reporting.
- Assist with the maturation of the Key Risk Indicator (KRI) program to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of risk and business metrics.
- Facilitates communication and builds effective working relationships with key business stakeholders and risk owners.
- Coordinates the inclusion of economic capital and stress testing within the company's risk appetite framework.
- Manages/Develops process documentation for the ERM Analytics and Reporting team to meet Audit/Regulatory requirements and facilitates requests from external constituents.
- Supports design, development, implementation, and maintenance of risk-related information systems for analysis, tracking, and reporting of enterprise-wide risk.
- Supports the development of, and effectively challenges, key internal and external key-risk indicators (aligned to Basel risk categories). Builds analytical tools/methodologies to support analysis of these risk metrics.
- Coordinates the annual process for the development, enhancements, and implementation of risk identification, risk appetite, and KRI frameworks, including integration with the planning and stress-testing processes.
- Assists senior management on ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Supports regulatory benchmarking studies, gap assessments, and competitive analysis to further enhance Discover Enterprise Risk Appetite program.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, Economist, or related field
- In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, Economist, or related field
Preferred Qualifications

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149, Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
