Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and delivery of high-quality results.
  • Lead a team of GIS Analysts, IT Professionals, and Business Analysts to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and deploy project best practices from planning through project closeout.
  • Manage projects using various Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Utilize formal change control and change management programs/models.
  • Write RFPs and work with third-party vendors in the acquisition or development of solutions.
  • Manage multiple consultants and vendors.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience providing expert-level technology program/project management on highly complex projects.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in the Utility industry, specifically in GIS technology.
  • Excellent leadership and political awareness within a political/government/public environment.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including contract negotiations and writing statements of work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, business teams, technical teams, and external agencies.
  • Skilled in influencing stakeholders and driving decisions to closure.
  • Technical background with GIS and Work and Asset Management applications.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, and Office products.
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix reporting structure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/Master's in Management of Information Systems, Systems Development, or Project Management (or related field).
  • Formal certification, training, and/or experience in Organizational Change Management, Organization Development, or Process Improvement.
  • Professional Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience providing expert-level program/project management on highly complex projects.
