PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Protection Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing protection system settings, engineering calculations, and design documents for our transmission and distribution facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop protection system schematic designs and conduct short-circuit and symmetrical component analysis
- Perform protection system coordination studies and develop relay settings and protection system automation logic
- Conduct arc flash analysis and manage integration with SCADA systems
- Develop complex electrical engineering studies, plans, and detailed scopes of work
- Provide peer review and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum of five years directly applicable engineering experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of principles in area of engineering specialty
- Project management and leadership skills, including ability to work as a team member and maintain project timelines and budgets
- Professional Engineering License (PE)
- Power systems focused Master's degree in electrical engineering or Master's degree in engineering
- Proficiency in substation design and power system protection
