Job Title: Revenue and Settlements Accounting Manager

Overview:

The Revenue and Settlements Accounting Manager will oversee a team of professionals responsible for all accounting responsibilities related to revenue processes, including recording revenue, invoicing customers, and monitoring customer receivables. This role will require strong attention to accuracy, a high level of detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Revenue and Settlements department
  • Provide planning and management oversight for the monthly close process, including review of journal entries, month and year-to-date variance analysis, and internal management reports and account reconciliations
  • Manage monthly customer invoices, including engagement with Independent System Operators (ISO) and/or Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO)
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data for preparation of financial reports
  • Serve as the owner for key revenue processes and ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory, and legal requirements
  • Work with the Technical Accounting team to ensure proper accounting treatment for new customer contracts, in accordance with ASC 606
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on various data requests
  • Interface with joint venture partners, external auditors, vendors, and consultants as required
  • Manage a team of professionals to perform and review results of management reporting, variance analysis, and projection updates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline
  • Eight (8) years or more of related work experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Certified Public Accountant or other relevant certifications
  • Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related discipline
  • Experience managing a team of professionals
  • Experience in the renewables industry
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and be flexible with assignment changes as needed
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Experience and confidence interacting with senior management, parent company management, external auditors, and external parties
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a subject matter expert, recommending best practices based on expertise and institutional knowledge, communicating complex concepts to management
  • Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PowerBI
  • Experience with PowerOptix

Working Conditions:
