Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tele-Radiologist Physician to join our team at the Department of Veteran Affairs. As a Tele-Radiologist Physician, you will be responsible for providing around-the-clock imaging interpretation services to remote client locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI, and US examinations of the head, spine, neck, body, extremities, and internal organs as appropriate.
  • Access studies for interpretation through the VISN 16 Picture Archiving and Communications System(s) and report findings electronically through the VISN 16 voice-recognition dictation software.
  • Communicate and document life-threatening findings immediately to referring physicians at remote facilities.
  • Function in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers, and referring physicians.
  • Protect sensitive data in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes, and policy.
  • Use word processing software to execute office automation functions and access information in the Medical Center Computer System.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience
  • Certification by American Board of Radiology.
  • Subspecialty certification preferred.
