Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Automation Sales Consultant, you will:
- Review and assess customer specifications, coordinating with product management to craft bids that meet customer needs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to shifting priorities with ease.
- Utilize engineering data, drawings, and ABB product knowledge to design and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Provide technical advice and insights on customer specifications regarding ABB products, systems, and applications.
- Support technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with your expertise.
- Conduct analytical studies to identify the most suitable technical solutions for customer requirements.
- Prepare and deliver engaging technical presentations and demonstrations on complex product issues.
- Assist in proposal development alongside local sales units and global sales specialists.
- Engage actively in customer discussions, offering technical proposals and guidance.
- Develop value-driven solutions that align with customer bid specifications.
- Foster relationships and maintain a technical knowledge exchange with key contacts globally and locally.
- Document knowledge and share insights to ensure consistency across the team.
- Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support in their assignments.
- Conduct risk assessments for proposed automation solutions and initiate actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Ensure budget and profitable growth targets are met.
- Achieve targets related to orders and customer satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in automation and control within the chemical, oil & gas, or utilities sectors.
- Preferred experience of 10 years.
- Expertise in Automation solutions for Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- In-depth knowledge of communication protocols relevant to the automation industry.
- Familiarity with digital applications in industrial settings.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with sales teams, product managers, and customers.
- Ability to learn and apply diverse technical solutions to fulfill customer requirements.
- Capable of interpreting customer requests to formulate actionable ABB solutions.
- Proficient in setting priorities and soliciting support to meet deadlines.
- Adept at identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 20 percent).
- Demonstrated initiative and motivation to achieve results with minimal supervision.
