Key Responsibilities:

As a Process Engineer within the Logistics division, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Automated Warehouse and Logistics System for Eli Lilly's manufacturing and supply chain operations. This position is integral to the Concord Site Engineering team, focusing on the delivery and management of logistics support systems.

Primary Objectives:

  • Oversee the safe design and operation of equipment in the designated area.
  • Provide engineering insights as an active member of the process team, collaborating across various functions.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of equipment and processes within Logistics, including equipment flow, process documentation, critical parameters, and automation.
  • Establish analytical frameworks for warehouse control systems to assess and enhance equipment performance.
  • Lead troubleshooting initiatives to address complex equipment and operational challenges.
  • Collaborate with automation and mechanical technicians to impart knowledge of equipment and processes, ensuring reliable and safe operation.
  • Employ formal problem-solving methodologies, including Root Cause Analysis, to resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Respond to and fulfill customer requests concerning equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, engineering technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to Maintenance and Engineering Technicians supporting the area.
  • Evaluate activities for their impact on equipment qualification and utilize appropriate tools and processes as needed.
  • Manage system/component classification and maintenance strategies for equipment.
  • Implement corrective actions and improvements stemming from CAPA findings.
  • Participate in regular reviews of equipment performance.
  • Lead or contribute to IQ/OQ/PQ activities, including the commissioning of new equipment or areas.
  • Develop project scopes for capital initiatives addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
  • Act as a representative for capital projects or as a delivery agent for local initiatives.
  • Identify and address equipment reliability issues to drive improvements.
  • Coordinate with site and corporate asset management teams to replicate enhancements and ensure alignment of maintenance activities.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement related to equipment processes.
  • Analyze equipment performance data against other operations to identify potential enhancements.
  • Set goals and objectives aimed at achieving world-class standards in safety, quality, and customer service.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Proficient in various software applications (PowerBI, SQL, Microsoft Suite, JMP, etc.).
  • Committed to maintaining safety and supporting all HSE Corporate and Site objectives.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Automated Systems, ASRS installations, AGVs, Conveyors, SOPs, and logistics processes.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to apply statistical analysis to manufacturing challenges.
  • Experience with validated systems.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis techniques for systematic problem resolution.
