Job Title: Senior System Safety Engineer

At Raytheon, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior System Safety Engineer to join our team in Tewksbury, MA.

Job Summary:

The Senior System Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products and systems throughout their entire lifecycle. This includes analyzing engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings, and schematics to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform system safety analyses and assessments to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Develop and implement safety controls and mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of our products and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and government approval authorities, to ensure safety requirements are met
  • Prepare safety assessment reports and briefs for customer approval
  • Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards to ensure compliance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience
  • Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, or equivalent Safety Engineering
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
  • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills
