Position Overview

Enterprise Community Loan Fund (ECLF) is a certified community development financial institution and a vital part of the Enterprise family. We are currently seeking a Senior Loan Officer to oversee lending activities across our national operations. This role will focus on underwriting loan requests for community development projects, particularly in areas such as community facilities and climate-related lending for affordable housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and originate new lending opportunities to meet production goals.
  • Structure and negotiate financing proposals, preparing detailed loan packages for management review.
  • Analyze third-party due diligence reports to assess transaction viability and determine appropriate loan structures.
  • Coordinate the preparation of commitment letters and loan documentation.
  • Manage the closing process, ensuring all items are collected, reviewed, and executed properly.
  • Oversee a select number of existing loans within the portfolio.
  • Maintain organized loan files to ensure audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with local and regional teams to leverage Enterprise resources effectively.
  • Support the organization's strategic goals, including increasing housing supply and promoting racial equity.
  • Keep accurate records of activities in ECLF's Salesforce system.
  • Assist with additional projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of lending experience, with at least three years in community development real estate underwriting.
  • Ability to independently manage complex transactions while balancing community needs with sound underwriting practices.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent business development, analytical, and communication skills, with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Salesforce.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local community development programs, particularly those related to affordable housing and sustainability.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
