Position Summary: As a pivotal technical leader within our project teams, the Site Operations Manager is tasked with enhancing jobsite efficiency, ensuring superior workmanship, and upholding a safe working atmosphere. This role merges advanced technical skills with project management methodologies to oversee the installation of Structured Cabling Systems, Data Centers, or specialized projects, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established standards. The Site Operations Manager will lead on-site teams effectively, managing projects of varying sizes and complexities to achieve set objectives. This position entails approximately 70% fieldwork and 30% administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety as our foremost Core Value, adhering to safe work practices aligned with company and client policies.

  • Oversee all installation processes, including:
    • Planning, organizing, and directing personnel, resources, and materials.
    • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
    • Conducting system testing and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Assess project needs and confirm the Scope of Work (SOW) and project plan, implementing strategies to optimize team performance and ensure compliance with SOW, project, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduling Administrator to maintain a 2-5 week forward-looking schedule, planning personnel, equipment, and material resources accordingly.
  • Provide accurate project status updates to the Scheduling Administrator to facilitate timely reporting to leadership and clients.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor for technicians, enhancing their skills and performance.
  • Work with the Project Engineer to identify compliant equipment and materials for projects.
  • Monitor, analyze, and resolve recurring issues that hinder performance targets.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across projects for continuous improvement.
  • Offer coaching and guidance to team members, promoting their development in emerging technologies.
  • Exemplify safety and professionalism at all times.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel as required by E2 Optics.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification within the first two weeks of employment.
  • BICSI Installer 2 Copper and Fiber certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in Structured Cabling or related fields.
  • Experience in large data center infrastructure, including technology, quality, and safety standards.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or training experience, including work assignment organization and scheduling.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, including pathways, spaces, and connections.
  • Familiarity with PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guides and Standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective performance management and coaching skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive work ethic.

Work Environment: The role involves working in both an office and construction environment, requiring the ability to use computers and tools while standing or sitting for extended periods. The position may require lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders up to 20 feet. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
