Position Summary

A Personal Banker is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while managing a variety of banking services. This role includes opening new accounts, servicing existing accounts, processing consumer loans, and conducting teller transactions. The Personal Banker will also promote bank products through effective cross-selling and foster strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver friendly and professional communication through various channels, including phone and email.
  • Open new accounts and cross-sell additional products and services tailored to customer needs.
  • Process all monetary transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal regulations, including BSA and CIP procedures.
  • Utilize active listening skills to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking services.
  • Conduct interviews with potential borrowers, make informed loan recommendations, and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to special projects as assigned.

Performance Expectations
  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, both in person and over the phone.
  • Maintain security of cash drawer and ensure accurate cash handling.
  • Complete balancing of teller cash drawer efficiently.
  • Adhere to bank policies regarding customer transactions and account management.
  • Provide timely assistance and resolution for customer inquiries and issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of banking products and services, with at least one year of experience in customer service or banking.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
