Position Summary:

A Personal Banker is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by offering a wide range of banking services, including account openings, servicing existing accounts, consumer loans, and processing teller transactions. This role involves promoting various bank products through effective cross-selling techniques and actively nurturing customer relationships. The Personal Banker contributes to the branch's operational efficiency while adhering to the bank's core values and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service through professional communication, including handling phone calls and electronic inquiries.
  • Facilitate the opening of new accounts and recommend additional products and services tailored to customer needs.
  • Manage all monetary transactions for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank policies.
  • Educate customers on available products and services, providing timely assistance and resolving any issues.
  • Comply with all security procedures and regulations to maintain the integrity of banking operations.
  • Utilize active listening skills to identify customer needs and promote relevant banking services.
  • Conduct interviews with potential borrowers, making informed loan recommendations and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Maintain a productive work ethic by seeking additional responsibilities and supporting team members.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to special projects as assigned.

Performance Expectations:
  • Greet customers promptly and courteously, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ensure the security of cash drawers and all negotiable items.
  • Complete cash drawer balancing within designated timeframes.
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain a low occurrence of cash outages.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation for account openings and transactions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software applications and banking systems.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial services, particularly in account management and teller operations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Sales experience in financial products is preferred.

Education:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is beneficial.
