About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for leading complex projects and ensuring their successful execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop technical projects for the pork and packaged meat industry
  • Perform engineering assignments on large and complex projects, leading a team of junior engineers
  • Develop project cost estimates and perform design work, including researching data and conducting feasibility studies
  • Manage project installation schedules and coordinate project activities with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors
  • Align with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a position of leadership, including team development and management
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues
  • Project Management skills, Contract Administration skills, and National codes and standards interpretation skills
