Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Clinical Nursing Instructor to join our team at Lanier Technical College. As a Clinical Nursing Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating clinical instruction in the north Georgia area. You will also assist and support the Program Director in meeting institutional, accreditation, and curricular requirements of the program, department, and division.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students' performance in various clinical, lab, and simulation settings;
  • Teach contact hours per week as assigned (weekdays) for the full duration of scheduled instruction;
  • Enforce academic policies and procedures at all times and comply with all other institutional rules and regulations pertinent to classroom/clinical/lab instruction and general employment;
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Course Coordinator and attend all course team and program planning meetings;
  • Complete clinical agency faculty orientation and comply with the mandatory requirements of each clinical site, and maintain a collaborative, positive relationship with clinical agency staff;
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures related to student progression and program completion;
  • Maintain complete and accurate student records, and provide academic feedback to students on a regular basis to improve performance;
  • Follow guidelines established in the ACEN Standards and Criteria.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university;
  • Active, unencumbered/unrestricted GA RN license;
  • Current AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification;
  • All requirements of the clinical site must be met (including, but not limited to: current immunizations, drug screening, Bloodborne Pathogens training, annual flu shot immunization & PPD, possible COVID immunization).
Technical Competencies
  • Ability to work flexible hours;
  • Ability to supervise diverse student body in a variety of clinical, lab, and/or classroom settings;
  • Ability to direct and assess students' progress in achieving required competencies;
  • Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching of courses, data collection, and reporting for accreditation agencies, and the College;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff;
  • Skill in the operation of work-related computers (computerized charting system, basic Blackboard use, etc.);
  • Appropriate oral and written communication skills and can effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced level;
  • Effective human relations, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word;
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution;
  • Clinical instructional experience;
  • Recent electronic health record experience and current clinical skills;
  • Current membership in a professional Nursing organization;
  • Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment;
  • Background experience in the areas of medical-Surgical, Maternal-Child, and/or Psychiatric Nursing.
