We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Medical Advanced Health Practitioner to join our well-established psychiatric inpatient unit team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our psychiatrist team to provide comprehensive, coordinated care to adult patients hospitalized for psychiatric care. Key responsibilities include:
- Completing H&P for each admission
- Rounding and managing admitted patients to identify and/or treat medical conditions, both acute and chronic disease states
- Evaluating, interpreting, and coordinating information to make clinical decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Educating patients about disease management
- Assisting in formal discharge planning through collaboration with the entire team
- Utilizing the interdisciplinary team model to stabilize patients' health
Qualifications include:
- Graduation from an accredited NP (adult or family) or PA (NCCPA certified) program
- Licensure to practice in the state of Iowa
- Ability to work independently and as part of a care team
- Passion for delivering medical care on behalf of patients with mental health or chemical dependency conditions
- Ability to reprioritize tasks secondary to a rapidly changing work environment
