Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to support our cardiology team at UnityPoint Health. As a CMA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Rooming Patients:
    • Greet and prepare patients for their appointments.
    • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs.
    • Accurately document patient history, medications, and any concerns or symptoms in the electronic medical record.
  • Clinical Support:
    • Assist cardiologists and other providers as needed.
    • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
  • Patient Communication:
    • Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
    • Communicate test results and instructions to patients as directed by the provider.
    • Handle patient inquiries via phone and secure messaging.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Schedule appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to other specialists as needed.
    • Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant, current certification.
  • Prior work experience in Cardiology or other specialty clinic preferred, but not required.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
