Job Summary

The Supervisor, Laboratory Medicine is responsible for providing daily supervisory oversight of the assigned laboratory department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operations. This role supports the Manager, Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in executing Health First's Mission and Vision, providing frontline leadership of daily lab operations to assigned departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of the laboratory, aligning with Health First's mission and vision.
  • Assign and oversee departmental work schedules, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
  • Oversee daily quality control operations and align with Health First's laboratory QA program.
  • Solicit feedback from frontline staff, implementing process improvement changes.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with inter-professional departments and Health First leadership team.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with associates, leaders, clinicians, staff, and customers.
  • Show commitment to 'Continuous Quality Improvement' through incorporation of evidenced-based laboratory medicine, benchmarking, and implementation of recommended guidelines.
  • Supervise resources allotted to assigned laboratory department.
  • Serve as a CLIA general supervisor for the laboratory in all sections of responsibility.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical/Clinical Lab Science or related field, as outlined by CLIA.
  • Medical Technologist licensure by State of Florida and in accordance with CLIA.
  • Two years of applicable experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong skills in time management, human relations, organizational communication, troubleshooting, computer, knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures, and college-level math skills.
