Position Summary

The Lead Preschool Teacher plays a crucial role in our educational team, responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and executing engaging lesson plans aligned with our curriculum.
  • Communicating effectively with parents through newsletters and personal interactions.
  • Building trusting relationships with families to foster a supportive community.
  • Maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and enjoyment.
  • Actively supervising and encouraging students in various settings.
  • Instilling a love for learning through diverse teaching methods.
  • Researching and implementing innovative teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Ensuring a safe and organized environment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Guiding and mentoring assistant teachers in a supportive manner.
  • Assisting with children's hygiene and personal care as needed.
  • Representing the values of Southwest Church through professional conduct.
  • Participating in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • A deep love for God and children.
  • Active membership in a Gospel-centered church.
  • High school diploma and an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field, with completion of required early childhood courses.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Understanding of young children's developmental needs and appropriate expectations.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Proactive, creative problem solver, and collaborative team player.
  • Good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demands of the role.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, and lifting up to 40 lbs as necessary.
