Job Summary

In this role, the technical support specialist will provide hardware, software, and network problem resolution support for automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and be able to handle multiple competing tasks at once with the ability to prioritize as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides hardware, software, and/or network problem resolution support for automation equipment.
  • Stages computers for installation by applying standard images and baseline software.
  • Installs and configures desktop computers, CAD workstations, and associated peripheral devices for end users.
  • Analyzes and resolves hardware, software, and/or network problems within service-level requirements.
  • Maintains contact with users/clients using automation equipment to provide automation support.
  • Provides training to users in the use of automation hardware, software, and Local Area Networks (LAN).
  • Performs IT projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 3 years of relevant work experience OR 9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have US Citizenship.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a site security badge.
  • Must either possess a DOE Q clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving and end-user support skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 10.
  • Experience performing desktop hardware and software setup and configuration.
  • Highly organized and a responsible time manager.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing tasks at once and prioritize as needed.
  • Computer literate in common software applications, including Microsoft Office and Adobe.
  • Experience with imaging techniques and imaging software such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
