Key Responsibilities: You will undertake security officer responsibilities and oversee staff to safeguard individuals and property from theft, misappropriation, fire, flood, or similar incidents during assigned shifts.
Core Duties:
- Maintain the physical security of facilities, vehicles, and assets by inspecting doors, windows, lighting, electrical devices, equipment, locks, and emergency tools.
- Ensure the accountability of students, staff, and visitors through effective check-in and check-out procedures by managing guard station coverage.
- Provide guidance and training to security personnel regarding security protocols.
- Assist in the transportation of students and in the reporting and management of fire incidents.
- Act as a liaison with local law enforcement and fire departments.
- Collaborate with other staff members on safety and security issues and conduct investigations related to security.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one (1) year of experience; supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience working with youth, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in computer usage.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry student luggage weighing up to 70 lbs, and frequently navigate stairs and uneven outdoor terrain.
- Must hold current CPR and first aid certifications.
- A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
