The Sr Sourcing Specialist is a key member of Unum Group's global supply management organization, responsible for leading the sourcing and execution of projects, contracting, and supplier relationship management across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Sourcing: Lead and participate on high-energy, cross-functional teams responsible for developing, implementing, and executing sourcing strategies specific to defined categories to reduce costs and mitigate risks.
- RFX Events: Manage and conduct RFX events related to low and medium complexity enterprise-wide sourcing projects, including preparing bid analysis, process specifications, tests, reports, and other exhibits for critical and complex requirements.
- Supplier Management: Ensure proper control and consistent application of best practices for the enterprise through the use of sourcing and procurement processes.
- Negotiation and Contracting: Develop negotiation strategies, gain alignment from business stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams using BATNA and other methodologies, and implement appropriate supplier risk analyses.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct complex analyses, including price/cost analysis, benefit analysis, and financial analysis, and have an excellent understanding of requirements for contract development and evaluation.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with key business owners and subject matter experts throughout the organization to ensure that new requirements are sourced in a timely manner.
- Supply Base Development: Support and improve supply base development programs, including supplier diversity, local economic development, and green sustainability programs.
- Supplier Performance Management: Manage, coordinate, and track ongoing supplier relationship and performance by building supplier scorecards and conducting regular supplier feedback cycles to maintain or improve performance as appropriate.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: At least 5-8 years of Procurement, Category Management, Supplier Management, or Sourcing experience.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, contracting, communication, influence, and leadership skills; strategic thinking and planning skills; ability to perform financial analysis; and advanced PC skills.
