This is a challenging opportunity to join the United States Marine Corps as a Financial Management Analyst. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing or advising on work in various phases of budget administration, including budget formulation, presentation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and present budget estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
- Analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative financial management methods.
- Implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
- Provide advice on effective and efficient methods for acquiring and using funds to support programs and activities.
- Liaise with Financial Managers to ensure daily operations are running smoothly.
- Prepare and review financial reports to monitor budget allocations and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in analyzing and considering a wide range of budget and program factors.
- Coordinate the reconciliation of financial data.
- Record manual transactions into the accounting system and understand the source documents.
- Load financial information into feeder systems.
- Perform financial management training to fund managers and supply employees.
- Conduct fiscal year-end and startup processes.
- Assist with establishing, billing, crediting, and closing reimbursable accounts.
- Provide technical analysis of revenue-generating programs.
- Prepare timely, accurate, and relevant financial reports.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must be registered for Selective Service.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
- Must be able to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- Must complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate monitoring budget allocations, analyzing financial programs, reconciling financial data, and training fund managers on financial management programs.
In lieu of specialized experience, the candidate may qualify with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
