Mental Health Therapist

Family Service League Inc. is seeking a skilled Counselor to provide individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults with a range of mental health and substance use disorders in an integrated licensed clinic. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, LMHC or limited permit, and at least one year of experience in a behavioral health setting, preferably in a clinic environment.
Responsibilities- Conduct intake assessments and provide individual and group therapy to adults, adolescents, and children with a range of DSM diagnoses.
- Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide linkage and follow-up to clients during the stabilization period and immediately following.
- Coordinate with outside providers and collateral contacts.
- Attend routine supervisions and team meetings.
- Coordinate treatment with a multidisciplinary team.
- Complete training and maintain proficiency with de-escalation and physical restraint skills.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally.
- Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling required.
- LMHC or limited permit required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting required; clinic experience preferred.
- Prior experience diagnosing using the DSM V and experience with behavioral/therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records required.
- Valid and clean NYS Driver's License required.
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
