We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Therapist to join our team at Family Service League Inc. as a Counselor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, children, and families by providing individual and group therapy services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough intake assessments to understand clients' needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions to adults, adolescents, and children with a range of mental health and substance use disorders.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in our electronic medical record system.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and community partners to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in regular supervisions and team meetings to stay updated on best practices and share knowledge.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date with de-escalation and physical restraint skills to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Master's degree in social work or a related field.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting, with clinic experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic skills using the DSM-5 and experience with behavioral/therapeutic interventions for diverse populations.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
- Valid and clean New York State Driver's License required.
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
