Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Children's Hospital Colorado. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide family-centered care to patients, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, incorporating the respiratory process to provide developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence-based care.
  • Perform respiratory diagnostics, including pulmonary function testing, bronchoprovocation-exercise induced and methacholine challenges, impulse oscillometry, and bronchoscopy assist.
  • Develop competencies and train to function independently in medical/surgical areas, utilizing and documenting the respiratory process to provide developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence-based care.
  • Guide care by clinical care guidelines, policies, and standards of care in at least one patient care unit, eliciting patient values, preferences, and expressed needs as part of implementation of care plan, evaluation of care, and assessment of patient.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy/Care is required at the time of hire. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy/Care is preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.
  • State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Respiratory Therapist license.
