Position Overview

The Aquatic Programs Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Aquatics Director and Program Specialist. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the recruitment, program development, and management of aquatic initiatives that align with the YMCA's mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the hiring process and training of aquatic staff.
  • Plan and oversee aquatic programs, ensuring high quality and participant retention.
  • Stay informed about current trends in aquatic programming.
  • Foster a community atmosphere among members and participants.
  • Manage marketing materials and promotional efforts for aquatic programs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in aquatic environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with members, participants, and volunteers.
  • Swimming proficiency as determined by a swim test.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding, and other relevant aquatic training.
