The National Systems Group acts as the technical consultant to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners, focusing on the collection and dissemination of national and tactical intelligence. This includes electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The Imagery Programs Division's Reconnaissance Systems Office is seeking a Senior RF Communications Engineer to assist in manufacturing, unit testing, subsystem integration, and system-level testing activities for a spacecraft communication subsystem and related RF hardware in support of a significant national space system acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate a team of engineering subject matter experts (SMEs) to oversee spacecraft RF communication and auxiliary RF payload hardware manufacturing, unit testing, subsystem integration, and system-level testing, providing technical and programmatic evaluations, along with daily updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate milestone reviews (e.g., Test Readiness Review) and sell-off activities.
  • Manage responses to non-conformance, anomalies, and major technical issues, directing supporting SME redesign evaluations, testing, and analysis, consolidating feedback, and offering recommendations for root cause and corrective action initiatives.
  • Support RF communication and auxiliary RF payload subsystem engineering and testing activities at the Enterprise level.
  • Act as the primary on-site Aerospace liaison to the RF communication and auxiliary RF payload subsystem customer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, or science discipline.
  • A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
  • Experience in spacecraft electronics subsystem development.
  • A background in unit-level, subsystem-level, and spacecraft-level RF electronics manufacturing, assembly, testing, and systems engineering.
  • Willingness to support frequent travel (typically 1-2 weeks per month).

This position necessitates the ability to obtain and maintain a current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to secure a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering, mathematics, or science field.
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership without direct management oversight.
  • Strong customer-oriented mindset with exceptional skills in facilitating communication between technical staff and clients.
  • Experience in successfully leading teams in the manufacturing, testing, and sell-off of spacecraft electronics and subsystems.
  • Knowledge of and experience with RF electronics manufacturing, testing, and sell-off at the unit, subsystem, and spacecraft levels.
  • A history of working in a dynamic team environment.
