About the Role
YoungWilliams is seeking a highly skilled Child Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our enforcement team, you will be responsible for ensuring that child support orders are established and enforced in accordance with state and federal policies, rules, and regulations.
Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess cases to determine service needs and identify legal issues, ensuring timely compliance with state, federal, and contractual time frames.
- Interview customers by phone and in person to gather information necessary for establishing paternity and support orders, enforcing existing orders, and reviewing/adjusting support amounts as needed.
- Access system data, including state-specific systems and internet resources, to obtain relevant case information and make informed decisions.
- Prepare cases and necessary documents for review and approval by staff attorneys and supervisors.
- Monitor cases for delinquencies and modifications, taking enforcement actions as required.
- Calculate current child support amounts and arrears, ensuring accurate distribution and disbursement in accordance with state, federal, and contractual requirements.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide case status information in a professional and courteous manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Associate's degree in a related field or relevant years of experience.
- Experience in child support enforcement or collections preferred.
- Familiarity with office environments and automated systems is desired.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
