Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess cases to determine service needs and identify legal issues, ensuring timely compliance with state, federal, and contractual time frames.
  • Interview customers by phone and in person to gather information necessary for establishing paternity and support orders, enforcing existing orders, and reviewing/adjusting support amounts as needed.
  • Access system data, including state-specific systems and internet resources, to obtain relevant case information and make informed decisions.
  • Prepare cases and necessary documents for review and approval by staff attorneys and supervisors.
  • Monitor cases for delinquencies and modifications, taking enforcement actions as required.
  • Calculate current child support amounts and arrears, ensuring accurate distribution and disbursement in accordance with state, federal, and contractual requirements.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide case status information in a professional and courteous manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Associate's degree in a related field or relevant years of experience.
  • Experience in child support enforcement or collections preferred.
  • Familiarity with office environments and automated systems is desired.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
