About the Role

Scripps Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Representative to join our team at Scripps Clinic Del Mar. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage patient scheduling, including appointment coordination and confirmation, and ensure accurate registration and demographic information.
  • Process payments and handle billing inquiries, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records, including patient demographics, insurance information, and appointment schedules.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing, and coding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
