The Lead Procurement Analyst plays a vital role in our operations, executing strategic purchasing initiatives and utilizing advanced methodologies to enhance our supply chain efficiency. This essential position ensures the smooth functioning of our processes by engaging in complex tasks and driving improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ sophisticated strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels, guaranteeing a steady supply of raw materials while minimizing surplus stock. This involves setting purchasing guidelines, interpreting procurement needs, and managing purchase orders effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to solicit quotes, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts to secure high-quality products and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Work in partnership with planning, engineering, and production teams to assess material requirements and devise efficient procurement strategies, facilitating the flow of materials through various project phases.
  • Oversee supplier and vendor relationships at our Chesterfield location, focusing on enhancing performance metrics such as cost, quality, lead time, and customer service, while fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a primary user of the ERP system's MRP capabilities, ensuring effective utilization to streamline procurement operations and improve supply chain transparency.
  • Continuously monitor market trends and analyze data to propose strategic adjustments in procurement and materials management, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Generate and present reports to support departmental requirements, providing insights that enable data-driven decision-making during discussions.
  • Manage key performance indicators related to procurement, including inventory turnover, stockout rates, cost of goods sold, inventory accuracy, lead times, and supplier performance.
  • Identify procurement risks and collaborate with the supply chain team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in supply chain management.
  • At least three years of experience in a procurement role, demonstrating a history of implementing best practices and optimizing inventory, costs, and quality.
  • Experience in a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiations and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with the MRP module of major ERP systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred certifications include APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various functions.
  • Minimal travel required.
