This role involves providing essential support to the service facility, which includes tasks such as vehicle refueling, local transportation of trucks and trailers, and maintenance of cleanliness within the facility. The Fleet Operations Supervisor will lead a dedicated team of Technicians and Mechanics in a proactive quality maintenance program, ensuring the upkeep of medium and heavy-duty vehicles for a safe and efficient fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Oversee technician performance and ensure accessibility throughout the shop.
  • Manage multiple shop operations effectively.
  • Plan daily workforce allocation to meet operational demands.
  • Provide assistance to the operations team concerning all equipment-related matters.
  • Identify and analyze cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including payroll approvals and compliance documentation.
  • Address performance issues with direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance or operations, with 5-8 years in a management role.
  • Prior hands-on experience with Heavy Duty Tractors and Trailers, including DOT inspections.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) operation certification above 10K, requiring medical certification.
  • Ideal candidates should be located in the Los Angeles area.
  • Depending on contract requirements, familiarity with Light/Medium-Duty repair and maintenance may be necessary.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to oversee multiple shop locations.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with examples of experience in retention, training, employment law, hiring, and coaching.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
