Job Summary
The Behavior Intervention Specialist Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the educational process by providing assistance to teachers, therapists, and counselors in the administration of one-on-one intensive behavioral intervention assistance. This position will also involve tutoring students in a school, home, classroom, or other setting, as well as assisting teachers and staff in the development and implementation of programs, materials, and exercises to enhance student learning and develop life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers, therapists, and counselors in the administration of one-on-one intensive behavioral intervention assistance
- Tutor students in a school, home, classroom, or other setting
- Assist teachers and staff in the development and implementation of programs, materials, and exercises to enhance student learning and develop life skills
- Perform a variety of activities in support of special instructional programs, including special education, interagency, and district-wide subject matter
Requirements
- Any combination equivalent to 1 year of education in child development, education, and/or psychology
- 1 year of experience working with handicapped students and/or 1 year of demonstrated experience implementing applied behavior analysis based behavior intervention techniques
