We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Dr. Susan Lozier on research projects related to the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and contribute to the development of data products and metrics for the Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Program (OSNAP).
Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality research in physical oceanography, focusing on AMOC variability and its impact on the global ocean circulation.
- Produce and disseminate OSNAP metrics and data products to the research community.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with oceanographers at Georgia Tech and other institutions on projects related to OSNAP.
- A Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
- A Master's degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
- A Doctoral degree
- A background in large-scale oceanography, with experience in observational and model data sets.
- Excellent organizational and collaborative skills, with strong oral and written communication skills.
