Research Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technician II to join our team at the Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB) at Georgia Tech. As a key member of our Systems Mass Spectrometry Core Facility, you will play a critical role in providing proteomics services to a broad range of research labs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert-level technical support for mass spectrometry-based analysis, including sample handling, extraction, and preparation.
- Collaborate with researchers to design and implement experiments, and deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
- Maintain and troubleshoot complex instrumentation, and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mass spectrometry and bioinformatics.
- Develop and implement bioinformatics tools and pipelines to support data analysis and interpretation.
- Communicate effectively with researchers, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless collaboration and project success.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a research laboratory setting, with a focus on mass spectrometry and bioinformatics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation and software issues.
- Experience with liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and metabolomics.
- Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and programming languages, such as R or Python.
