We are seeking top talent to join our Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas team as a Medical Care Specialist. This role is responsible for providing professional nursing care and assistance to patients of any age group admitted to the area.

Job Summary:

The Medical Care Specialist provides direction to Licensed Vocational Nurses and non-licensed nursing personnel in delivering direct patient care, supporting the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff, and adhering to the mission and objectives of the Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of patients, develops plans of care based on these assessments, and implements interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Delegates tasks to unlicensed personnel while ensuring patient safety and aligning with the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and physical and emotional ability of the assigned staff.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with established standards.
  • Clarifies orders or treatment regimens that may be inaccurate, non-efficacious, or contraindicated by consulting with licensed practitioners and notifying the ordering practitioner when necessary.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current RN license in the State of Texas
  • BLS certification
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • No prior experience required, but unit-specific competencies must be obtained within six months of hire
Compensation and Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary of approximately $85,000 per year, paid time off, a comprehensive benefit plan including medical, dental, vision, and more, as well as bonus potential. The estimated annual salary is based on industry standards and the specific requirements of this role.
