Inova Potomac Radiation está en búsqueda de un Especialista en Terapia de Radiación PRN para unirse a nuestro equipo. Esta posición es de tipo PRN (A DEMANDA) con un horario variable.

Requisitos para la consideración:
  • Título de asociado en Terapia de Radiación o certificación equivalente.
  • 2 años de experiencia como Terapeuta de Radiación en un departamento de Terapia de Radiación, con experiencia en aceleradores lineales y simulación de pacientes.
  • Registro como Tecnólogo Radiológico Americano requerido al inicio.
  • Certificación de Soporte Vital Básico de AHA requerida al inicio.
  • Licencia de Tecnólogo Radiológico es obligatoria para miembros del equipo en áreas ambulatorias.
Responsabilidades del Trabajo:
  • El Especialista en Terapia de Radiación se comunica de manera efectiva con pacientes, familias, personal médico, miembros del equipo de salud, supervisores y contactos externos.
  • Es responsable de los modalidades y protocolos de tratamiento para configurar y administrar tratamientos de radiación de manera precisa a diario.
  • Realiza procedimientos de simulación para la configuración inicial del paciente, verificando el correcto funcionamiento de los aceleradores lineales, simuladores y máquinas de Tomografía Computarizada.
  • Mantiene registros precisos de los tratamientos diarios y otros documentos requeridos; documenta cualquier corrección en los registros resultantes de cambios en el curso de tratamiento originalmente prescrito.
  • Asegura que se tomen películas de verificación de portal en intervalos apropiados; reconoce la necesidad de ajustes en los puertos de tratamiento al comparar películas de simulación/portal o posiciones de pacientes; prepara dispositivos de inmovilización de acuerdo con las prescripciones del médico.
  • Posiciona a los pacientes para la definición inicial del volumen tumoral que debe ser determinado por los médicos; toma imágenes del volumen de tratamiento especificado para revisión y aprobación por parte de los médicos.
  • Marca/tatua la anatomía corporal apropiada para el reposicionamiento diario en el acelerador lineal; documenta o captura las mediciones del paciente y los parámetros de tratamiento de la máquina para la planificación y cálculos de dosimetría; adquiere conjuntos de datos de la máquina de Tomografía Computarizada para el posicionamiento del paciente, contornos y parámetros de configuración.
  • Asiste a capacitaciones, conferencias y reuniones del departamento; se mantiene al tanto de nuevas tecnologías en el campo y ayuda en el desarrollo de nuevas técnicas a través de la participación en proyectos de investigación o demostraciones educativas; demuestra conocimiento de los modalidades y protocolos de tratamiento del departamento en la programación, configuración y tratamiento de pacientes.
  • Realiza aseguramiento de calidad diario en aceleradores lineales, simuladores y máquinas de Tomografía Computarizada para verificar la salida precisa de los parámetros designados; informa sobre el funcionamiento errático del equipo a física; verifica el funcionamiento de los apagados de emergencia y bloqueos; informa cualquier discrepancia a física.
  • Participa o proporciona asistencia con mediciones de dosimetría in-vivo y dosimetría especial.
  • Puede realizar tareas adicionales según se asignen.
