Electronics Field Service Specialist

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our Materials and Structural Analysis Division. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing sophisticated equipment and systems at customer sites. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site installations of complex equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order
Assist with scheduled planned maintenance visits and provide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field service personnel
Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel
Travel to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
Complete and submit field service reports and provide training for customers and users on system maintenance
Requirements:
Associate degree from a technical or undergrad program in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science, or similar field preferred
1-3 years of relevant combination of skills and experience
Ability to work under pressure with minimal direct supervision and a consistent record of making decisions
Detail-oriented, problem solver, and team player with excellent communication skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and display a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific
