The Business Office within the College of Education is responsible for providing comprehensive financial and administrative support, ensuring the effective management of the college's resources. This includes budgeting, financial planning, procurement, contract management, and fiscal oversight.
The office plays a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the academic and research missions of the College.
Essential Job Duties
The primary objective of this position is to oversee financial transactions and procurement activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various departments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing procurement cards (P-cards), technology orders, contracts, purchase orders, and research-related vouchers.
- Providing fiscal oversight to ensure the proper allocation and utilization of multiple funding sources.
- Assisting with travel arrangements and reimbursements as needed.
Job Duties:
- Initiate and process financial transactions, including reconciling P-card statements and processing reimbursements, while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Manage the complete process of technology-related purchases, from order placement to delivery confirmation.
- Monitor spending and balances across various fund types to ensure availability before processing requests.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in various projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial reconciliation, procurement, and contract management.
- Strong understanding of fiscal management principles and budgeting processes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Google Workspace.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a research or academic environment.
- Familiarity with financial management software.
Required License or Certification:
- Valid NC Driver's License required.
