About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Coordinator 2 to join our team at the Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring our grants program, researching grant opportunities, and writing detailed project proposals for submission to granting agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Grants Program, including researching grant opportunities and writing detailed project proposals for submission to granting agencies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for organizations receiving and/or requesting grants administered by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, providing technical assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Inform potential applicants about various programs and eligibility requirements, assist applicants with developing grant program goals and objectives, and outline policies and procedures relative to the use of grant funds.
  • Establish the fiscal monitoring of approved grants to ensure quality assurance throughout all processes, reviewing available funds in compliance with state and federal procedures.
  • Conduct training on regulations, requirements, application procedures, and/or project administration.
  • Monitor and track grant expenditures, prepare activity reports and/or billings, and maintain all required records for grant compliance.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures relative to grants administration that align with state and federal guidelines.
  • Respond to inquiries from constituents, government officials, and other external individuals.
  • Assist fiscal personnel with forfeiture funds and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of budgeting, bookkeeping, and office practices and procedures. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 courses or 9 months of experience in contract and grant preparation, accounting, and public relations are preferred. Equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
