We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Scholarship Stewardship to join our team at Colorado State University. As a key member of our scholarship program, you will play a critical role in enhancing the donor and recipient experiences, fostering community and connection to philanthropy, and ensuring compliance with FERPA regulations and CSU's stewardship philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Successfully balance FERPA compliance, student experience, and CSU's scholarship stewardship philosophy.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with campus partners, including the Office of Financial Aid, Office of General Council, CSU Foundation, college/unit scholarship coordinators, and college/unit development teams.
  • Maintain and evolve the scholarship recipient webpage, including the development of additional resources for students.
  • Work with OFA and College/Unit Scholarship Coordinators to update application/selection language/communications annually.
  • Manage stewardship participation requests to recipients in a way that positively fosters participation.
  • Answer questions from recipients regarding scholarship stewardship opportunities and participation.
  • Explore a potential scholarship ambassador program, in which recipients would lend their stories of gratitude and impact.
  • Explore possible scholarship recipient events to create a stronger sense of community, belonging, and connection to philanthropy.
  • Examine communications with a lens of diversity and inclusion for the audience, ensuring that they welcome guests from all backgrounds and are representative of various identities.
Donor Experience Support
  • Manage existing centralized scholarship stewardship efforts, including the annual scholarship thank you video and the annual scholarship impact report.
  • Centralize the scholarship stewardee notification process and the creation of scholarship recipient bios.
  • Support Tier A scholarship endowment donor custom impact pieces.
  • Build and implement the centralization of the scholarship stewardess notification process.
  • Maintain and evolve the scholarship donor resource webpage, including the development of additional resources for donors.
  • Create and execute a scholarship donor welcome kit and distribution plan.
  • Create and execute annual scholarship donor survey and distribution plan.
  • Create and manage various ways for scholarship donors to engage with recipients, flipping the script such as a scholarship donor note-writing campaigns to recipients.
  • Research and explore a donor ambassador program to increase recipients' understanding of donors and philanthropy.
  • Partner with CSUF on fund audits to evaluate stewardship promises and other commitments outlined in fund agreements, in addition to developing best practices for fulfilling such promises/commitments.
  • Support evolving conversations about donor involvement in scholarship recipient selection.
  • Provide recommendations for scholarship event best practices.
  • Examine how communications and processes can be more inclusive and representative of a diverse range of partners and donors.
Fundraiser Collaboration
  • Provide training to UA regarding scholarship best practices.
  • Lead centralized scholarship stewardship work group with college and unit partners.
  • Oversee scholarship-related data in CRM.
  • Contribute to other donor relations and stewardship activities as assigned.
  • Analyze and track project budgets.
  • Exemplify the Division's commitment to inclusive excellence and demonstrate this in operational tasks, including creating inclusive environments, materials, and communications.
Strategic Planning and Decision Making
  • Build comprehensive scholarship stewardship plan for all of UA.
  • Develop a tiering system for scholarship stewardee.
  • Establish strategy, goals, metrics, and systems for centralized scholarship stewardship.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on scholarship stewardship, as well as overarching knowledge of scholarship administration.
  • Effectively manage budget of $10K-$30K.
  • Consider how purchasing choices can support local and underrepresented businesses.
