About the Opportunity

Families and communities need access to high-quality support systems that promote healthy child development and address mental health concerns. As a Family Support Coordinator with Illinois Action for Children, you will play a critical role in bridging this gap by building strong partnerships with childcare providers and community organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with childcare providers in designated communities.
  • Collaborate with local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies and other partners to promote early childhood mental health and development.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on topics such as trauma-informed care, child development, and mental health.
  • Maintain accurate records of provider interactions, training delivery, and coordination efforts.
  • Represent the organization in a positive light to stakeholders, policymakers, and the general public.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with families, particularly those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of community-based resources and services, including early childhood education and mental health programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to travel for job-related purposes, including long-distance driving.
