We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Uplift Heights Preparatory. As a key member of our campus operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform nightly custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning restrooms
- Remove trash and waste and place it into a dumpster or trash compactor
- Maintain campus buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment by performing regular cleaning and maintenance
- Assist with cafeteria dining area set up, including arranging tables and chairs for morning use
- Routinely perform light maintenance tasks, such as unclogging toilets or drains, fixing restroom partitions, and performing maintenance on janitorial equipment
- Perform non-routine cleaning tasks, including cleaning waste receptacles, washing windows, and pressure washing the building exterior
- Perform non-routine maintenance tasks, including stripping and waxing operations, moving furniture, and painting classrooms and hallways
- Clean bodily fluids and disinfect surfaces
- Notify school administration of any needed major repairs or equipment failure
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage, supply, and maintenance areas
- Respond to emergency situations to confine, resolve, or prevent injurious or hazardous conditions
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or minimum 2 years' experience in the janitorial service industry or 2 years' experience in building maintenance
- Experience with quality control checks
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical instructions
- Ability to respond to and resolve common complaints
- Ability to effectively present information to campus and central office management
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively
The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent interruptions and potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a variety of environments and adapt to changing situations.
