About Us:

Our client, an employee-owned Civil Construction company with over 120 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Southern Region's San Diego Team.

The Role:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall administrative and technical direction on projects. You will plan, direct, and coordinate engineering and scheduling activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet all minority obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage field teams, working closely with the Division Manager and Estimator.
  • Establish project objectives with the Division Manager.
  • Implement established corporate policies and procedures, including EEO and Affirmative Action responsibilities.
  • Represent the company by initiating and maintaining liaison with primary owner representatives.
  • Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site superintendents.
  • Manage job administration and contract documentation with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee financial aspects of contracts, including job cost reports, billings, budget changes, change orders, accounts payable processing, and collections.
  • Create and execute project work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Review deliverables prepared by team members before submitting to clients.
  • Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Provide safety and quality control management.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and management of budgets.
  • Manage subordinates.
  • Resolve problems involving labor disputes, material deliveries, and contracts/subcontract administration.
  • Oversee document control and coordination of subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in heavy civil, highway, and ideally Cal Trans work.
