Job Title: Physical Security Specialist

Chenega MIOS SBU is seeking a highly skilled Physical Security Specialist to join our team. As a Physical Security Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical and physical support for high-security areas, security equipment, and security systems in support of NSWCCD facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct threat/vulnerability-based assessments to identify potential security risks.
  • Research and obtain information to support the Security Office in formulating and developing AT/FP assessments and reports.
  • Prepare and provide vulnerability assessments that address multiple facets of the agency's operations, including counterintelligence and security disciplines.
  • Collaborate with risk management processes, planning, training, exercises, resources, and AT/FP vulnerability assessments and program reviews.
  • Conduct security inspections of Open Storage Areas in support of recertification.
  • Track findings and document revisions, policy, and procedure improvements.
  • Provide Threat/Vulnerability-based assessments that address various specialties within agency operations, including AT/FP, counterintelligence, and physical security.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in homeland security, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Homeland or Information Security, Security Operations, and/or Access Control.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Secret clearance is required to start.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for the lifecycle of the project.
  • Advanced working knowledge of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Working knowledge of information/physical security.
  • Ability to attend all customer in-person meetings and conferences as requested.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to identify potential project risks.
  • Ability to build surveys and perform inspections.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, government personnel, and management.
  • Ability to handle classified material and knowledge of document control.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English written and verbal language.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-performance-based environment.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team.
