Job Title: Security Support Specialist

Join General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) as a Security Support Specialist and play a critical role in protecting our nation's safety and security. As a member of our team, you will assist with personnel security processing, clearance processing, and security administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with personnel security processing, including submission of paperwork and monitoring clearance processing status.
  • Prepare and deliver security indoctrinations and briefings on all security procedures and topics.
  • Develop security awareness materials and conduct security briefings, program indoctrination/debriefs, and annual refresher briefings as needed.
  • Help create and maintain the internal clearance database and file systems.
  • Assist in the development of security policies and procedures and ensure compliance with those policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties such as filing, copying, preparing data for transmittal, and maintaining/updating databases.
  • Assist with reviewing security clearance documentation prior to submission to clearance division to ensure documentation is complete or if additional information may be required.
  • Interview subjects in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence to elicit clarifying information.
  • Conduct investigative assignments, prepare investigative result reports with recommendations, and assist in administering Code of Conducts to individuals and, if applicable, perform other follow-up actions resulting from the disposition of the case.
  • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries from the Sponsor on the status of pending cases or any other information pertaining to adjudicative support tasks.
  • Respond to written, telephonic inquires; verify case status; and respond to requests for routine and/or ad hoc reporting of personnel security statistics.
  • Input and update badge and credential records and enter into the badge system.
  • Process requests for Identification Cards and Courier Cards.
  • Assist with visitor access and control processes and procedures.
  • Perform other security administration functions as tasked.
Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of involvement with personnel, physical or technical security, or a minimum of nine (9) years of involvement with personnel, physical or technical security.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to use discretion when handling sensitive personal information.
  • The ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and problem solve.
  • Thorough understanding of the federal rules and regulations that encompass the SCI and collateral security process.
